Bernalillo County • Fiscal Year 2026-2030 Water Conservation Plan Update (2025), NM

MWM collaborated with Bernalillo County to update the County’s Water Conservation Plan, which will guide the County’s Water Conservation Program in promoting the efficient and responsible use of water resources. The Fiscal Year 2026–2030 Water Conservation Plan Update and Program were developed to support a long-term, reliable water supply through education and outreach initiatives, incentive programs, technical assistance to water systems, water conservation improvements at County facilities, and implementation of a Water Conservation Ordinance.

MWM’s work included evaluating existing program performance, identifying key goals and policies, assessing current conservation program components, and facilitating community engagement throughout the planning process. MWM designed and conducted surveys for Public Water Systems and community members, coordinated outreach with local Public Water Systems and Neighborhood Associations, and assisted in planning and participating in three public open house events to gather community input on the County’s Water Conservation Plan and Program. MWM also prepared a Technical Memorandum summarizing outreach activities and stakeholder feedback.
