AWWA M50 Water Resources Planning, Third Edition, 2017
Organization: American Water Works Association
Co-author/Contributor: Maddaus Water Management
William and Lisa Maddaus are contributing authors of M50 Water Resources Planning, the American Water Works Association’s M50 Manual, for the third edition released in early 2017. This guide discusses how to produce a long-term Integrated Resource Plan for a water utility. It helps water resources planners develop and implement a comprehensive work plan before deciding how to develop new water supplies. The third edition has updated information, including stakeholder involvement; reclaimed water and other source water alternatives; an evaluation of such alternatives; and a reference to AWWA standards and manuals of water supply practices for additional information. William and Lisa also worked on the second edition as principal authors. During the 1990s, William led the development of the first edition in a collaborative process among his co-authors, resulting in the initial publication of this useful manual in 2001.
