Sonoma County • WellAware Program and Toolkit Development (2026), CA
The WellAware Program is a free, voluntary initiative available to all well owners and groundwater users located within the Petaluma Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and Sonoma Valley groundwater basins located in Northern California.
MWM partnered with the Sonoma County Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs), LandIQ and Daily Acts to develop the WellAware Program. A key feature is the WellAware Toolkit, a GIS-based interactive resource designed to help Sonoma County’s groundwater community make informed decisions about groundwater use on their properties. The Toolkit provides personalized groundwater-saving recommendations based on a user’s property address, allowing customers to explore tailored water efficiency practices, identify available financial assistance programs, and connect with trusted local experts for additional guidance.
